Once again the results were not good to India.
It was proved in Barcelos (Portugal), like in 2009 Bassano (Italy), that India has a long way to improve the quality of it Roller Hockey.
The level is quite far from the other countries what means that Federation must change the way of thinking. It's not enough just to send young players to a World Cup and let them play there.
A good example of working was Angola national team. Some years ago they had a level not compared to countries like Portugal and Spain.
The Angolan Federation made a big effort and support them to play the last season in Portugal. Also before the World Cup they were in Portugal to prepare the World Cup playing against Portuguese teams. Why RSFI doesn't to the same, or ask for an international coach to be in India preparing their national teams or formating the actuals national coaches?

Yesterday our National team started the 5th FIRS World Cup U-20. Like we said here, the team didn't travel to Portugal expecting victories. The main goal is learn with the other countries, and give to our young players an opportunity to improve their roller hockey level.
Yesterday Argentina defeat with 27 goals against 0, our national team.

Today the task was not easy against England, and for second time we suffered a big loss.
This time the final score was 1-22. For the first time in the World Cup we scored a goal, being Samjoe Chintagunti the responsible for it.

Tomorrow it's the last match of the group phase, to our team. The opponent will be Chile, and one more time, our "soldiers" will have hard work.

 The so expected FIRS U20 World Cup will start tonight. As we know India will be present also, with 10 young players that ambition to play and learn with the best young players of the World.

For the first time ever all the matches of the World Cup will be transmitted, including the matches of India.

The group of India was reported here some weeks ago and is composed by: Argentina, Chile and England.

Indian Team for U20 world cup

R.S.F.I. (roller skating federation of India) announced the Indian roller hockey team for the upcoming U20 roller hockey world-cup, which is going to be held in Portugal in September 11th to 17th 2011 .....

more than 25 players across the India attending the first 2 camps and the Indian coaches has selected the 10 members for the event...

Indian Team is in group C along with Chile, England and Argentina ....

The Roller Skating Federation of India is going to organize the 1st Indian Camp U-20 from 5th June to 21st June ......
The Camp is going to be held in VISHAKAPATNAM in a steel plant.
One of the main objectives of RSFI, with the organization of this first young camp is the preparation and selection of Indian players to play the next 2011 FIRS Roller Hockey World Cup U-20.
This World Cup will be from 11th to 17th of September in the city of Barcelos, PORTUGAL !!!

Delhi open tournament held at Punjabi Bagh Club 9-11 may 2011

Delhi open tournament was jointly held by DRSA and Punjabi Bagh Club and sponsored by Thukral Optical. Speed skaters and hockey teams came from all over Delhi schools, clubs, and in Hockey there were:

• 3 teams in Midgets 
• 6 teams in sub juniors 
• 5 teams in juniors 
• 5 teams in seniors.

In Midgets Team Toppers baged GOLD.
In Sub juniors Team Toppers bagged GOLD , CRJ school Bagged SILVER and Keep rolling Fed bagged Bronze ....
In Juniors ROLLER HAWKS bagged GOLD , TSA bagged SILVER and Ryan International school bagged BRONZE.
In Seniors GOLD was Bagged by none other than ROLLER HAWKS , while FIRE BLADES bagged SILVER and TSA bagged Bronze.
All the matches were played under the lights. It was one great experience to have a tournament under the lights for the first time in Delhi.

A Gift for Roller Hockey Lovers

Is because of videos like these that I still believe that Roller Hockey is one of the best Sports of the World, and just due to some people and some mistakes, it is not in a best position. The first one is the Epic match between Vilanova and Olivenrense to CERS Cup, that Vilanova won for 5-1. The second and third are a Marketing Campaign that Vilanova is doing during this week to promote the Final 4 of CERS Cup to be held next weekend in Vilanova.
